Artist Statement
“In my art practice, I endeavour to create dreamlike atmospheres that are often rooted in everyday experience, but make the viewer feel a subtle sense of uneasiness. My recent work explores humanity’s effort to contain and control nature, paralleling the containment and control of femininity – the desire for something beautiful, as long as it is tamed. By invoking symbols such as houseplants, gardens, and urban landscaping, I aim to convey how nature resists regulation and how this relates to gender dynamics.”
